Frequently Asked Questions
What can I use my yurt for?
Guest house, a playhouse for adults or kids, meditation, birdwatching, glamping, sound bath studio, massage studio, office, shinrin yohu (forest bath), clay oven roof, outdoor kitchen, outhouse, gathering space.
I like these yurts and would like something different. Can I customize my yurt?
Yes, we would be happy to develop a design and craft a building just for you. The size can vary, from the size of the Siskin currently displayed, to the hummingbird size, and larger.
Variations: The little roof (like the Siskin on display) could be an ideal roof for a clay bread or pizza oven. If designed for this, the legs might be different to accommodate the oven below. Walls could be more solid, We have built small yurts with solid walls, for use as an outhouse.
Larger yurts can be a living space for the short or long-term.
Your yurt can sit on the ground, be up on legs, or even hang from a tree!
How long does it take to build a Made-to-Order yurt?
This depends on the design process and the complexity of the structure. When you contact us, we can discuss your vision and a timeframe for completion.
Where do you deliver? How long does it take to set up?
We live on an island and build here. We can easily deliver anywhere on Whidbey. With some planning, we can deliver and set up your yurt anywhere on the west coast or beyond. We have an efficient system for lifting and transporting the yurts. We will build a simple foundation in advance of the move. The lift and set can be done in a couple of hours.
How much does a JADE yurt cost?
JADE yurts are finely crafted and full of careful detail. They are not inexpensive. If you are interested in purchasing one of these or commissioning a different one, please contact us.
